JOB PURPOSE
The Project Engineer – Automation, Digital Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Lead is a hybrid role that combines traditional engineering project management with leadership in automation, digitalization, and cybersecurity. This role is key to driving Unilever’s smart manufacturing transformation while ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient operations across infrastructure projects at the Minburi site.
You’ll collaborate with project managers, OT/IT stakeholders, engineers, and external partners to lead both physical and digital infrastructure projects—ensuring they’re delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with Unilever’s global digital and cybersecurity standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project Planning & Coordination
- Plan and manage engineering and infrastructure projects (civil, mechanical, digital).
- Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables, incorporating digital/automation objectives.
- Align with stakeholders to ensure strategic fit and secure integration with factory systems.
2. Technical Support, Automation & Digital Infrastructure
- Lead deployment of digital tools, sensors, and automation systems.
- Integrate OT (Operational Technology) with IT systems to enable smart factory capabilities.
- Provide technical input on system architecture, network design, and system commissioning.
3. Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Ensure cybersecurity is embedded in all digital and automation solutions.
- Collaborate with global and regional cybersecurity teams to enforce Unilever standards.
4. Site Supervision & Execution
- Oversee on-site implementation of construction and automation projects.
- Ensure contractors and vendors comply with engineering, safety, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Validate system integration and digital commissioning efforts.
5. Cost Control & Budget Management
- Manage budget tracking across all Capital Expenditures of the factory.
- Prepare business cases for automation and digital upgrades ensure ROI tracking.
6. Safety, Risk & Cyber Risk Management
- Conduct physical and digital risk assessments.
- Enforce health, safety, and cybersecurity protocols during execution phases.
7. Documentation, Digital Records & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records including digital asset documentation, change logs, and cyber risk assessments.
- Report progress to internal stakeholders and align updates with Unilever’s digital roadmap.
8. Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a liaison across engineering, digital, IT, and cybersecurity teams.
- Support change management and capability building across the site in digital practices.
CANDIDATE CRITERIA
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- Certifications in cybersecurity, automation, or digital systems (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Solid project management skills with a strong grasp of construction and infrastructure fundamentals.
- Knowledge of industrial automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and IIoT systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks.
- Understanding of factory digitalization, networked control systems, and IT/OT convergence.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience:
- 3–5 years in engineering project management, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Experience in executing automation/digital projects and managing cybersecurity risks is a strong advantage.
