Job Title: Packaging Technologist and Capability Co-ordinator

Work-Level: WL1 Band 3

JOB PURPOSE

We’re looking for a curious and proactive graduate to join our Home Care Packaging team. This role is a great opportunity to kick-start your career in packaging, combining hands-on development work with the chance to help improve how we work as a team.

You’ll spend around half your time working on real packaging projects—designing, testing and helping to launch new packaging. The other half will focus on improving our tools, processes and ways of working, especially using digital solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Packaging Technologist (50%)

• Help design and test packaging for different product formats.
• Support trials and testing to make sure packaging performs well and meets cost and sustainability goals.
• Work with teams across R&D, marketing, supply chain and suppliers to bring packaging ideas to life.
• Help create and maintain accurate documentation and specifications.
• Contribute to sustainability efforts like reducing packaging weight or exploring new materials.

Capabilities and Ways of Working (50%)

• Help improve how we work as a packaging team.
• Create and update training materials and best practices.
• Support the use of digital tools and structured data to make our work more efficient.
• Spot areas where we can work smarter and suggest improvements.
• Help coordinate training and change initiatives across the team.
• Make sure our packaging data is accurate and consistent.

ALL ABOUT YOU

Skills

• A degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering or a related subject.
• A basic understanding of packaging materials and how packaging is developed.
• An interest in improving processes and using digital tools.
• Great attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with different teams.
