JOB PURPOSE

Unilever provides Global Health & Wellbeing (GHW) services to its entire workforce. The GHW function is crucial in ensuring the health protection, promotion, and wellbeing of the Unilever family. Unilever operates a hybrid occupational health model with both outsourced and in-house clinicians, specialists, and administrators.
The role has responsibility for driving continuous improvement in occupational health and whole-person health across Unilever globally, aligning with Unilever’s strategic goals to showcase tangible benefits to the business, including enhanced productivity and cost efficiency. The person in this role has responsibility to develop and execute service lines and service delivery models that are legally compliant, risk-based, data-driven, comprehensive, aligned with evidence-based standards of quality and compliance, and that are integrated with all operating requirements across Unilever functions and stakeholder teams.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
- Develop and implement global occupational health strategies and programs
- Develop occupational health policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
- Lead global occupational health teams and collaborate with other functions such as HR, SHE, Legal, Workplace Services, Security, Finance, Business Operations, and Procurement.
- Ensure compliance with global occupational health regulations and standards.
- Monitor and report on key health metrics and KPIs.
- Drive initiatives to enhance occupational health, whole-person health, and health-related productivity.
- Ensure geography operations leads and clinical Leads stay abreast of and compliant with Occupational Health regulations and requirements for delivery of all service lines.
- Lead the internal audit team to identify quality and/or compliance gaps, along with the development and execution of corrective, correction, and prevention actions.
- Act as first-line corporate center clinical escalation point.
- Design and deploy clinical skills and roles assurance and development pathways for all clinical teams.
- Collaborate with Head of Digital Health & Outcomes Research to address occupational health research needs and opportunities.
- Monitor, interpret, and assess existing and emerging global occupational health trends and public health threats to determine operational impact and design, develop, and integrate occupational health strategy and programs to mitigate impact.
- Support as clinical lead/advisor for geographies without clinical lead roles
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- Medical doctor degree (MD, MBBS, or MBCHB).
- Master’s degree in occupational medicine.
- Master’s degree in occupational health.
- Postgraduate qualification in Safety.
- 20+ years of experience in occupational health management with at least 10 years in regional and/or international roles.
- Certified ISO lead auditor in occupational health and information security.
- Demonstrated experience in driving change in large matrixed environment.
- Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects concurrently.
