WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Job Summary
Ice cream Project Engineer - is responsible for Engineering, Innovation and Delivery projects for Konya IC Factory, along with project management for the engineering elements of business-critical projects on a Regional & Local scale, covering Innovation, Capability, Capacity, Sustainability, Saving and VIP. This role also includes building filling & packing machinery setup, Mix & Processing to support those strategies and developing convergence plans and compliance to Unilever Engineering Standards.
- Become the engineering point of contact for IC Project Teams related to Engineering projects of Innovation, Technology, Capability, Capacity, asset re-use and VIP by using Best Practice Tools and Processes (FI, AM, PM, EPM, EEM, Project Management).
- Leading concept & FEED, and supporting Detailed Design, and identifying project budgets for chosen projects in close conjunction with the Global Design Centers and Project leads.
- Undertake technology supplier evaluations in support of defining the technology supply base including scouting for New technologies and suppliers which will provide competitive advantage to Unilever or strengthen our Global Technology Portfolio.
- Support Robotics & Automation teams by identifying best practice/fit for purpose solutions on technology.
- Support FI (focused Improvement) and EEM (Early Equipment Management) teams at key packaging.
- Being a member of Site Engineering Team. Lead/support hygiene audits, gaps closure follow-up.
- Evaluating alternative 3P’s in terms of capability, hygiene, building capital plans to meet Unilever requirements.
- Support filling & Packaging machinery skills development plan across cluster.
- Knowledge management of different Machineries ensuring Best Practice is effectively captured and transferred across regions and factories.
- Support Category Planning to develop & implement capacity, savings and innovation agenda.
- Support Global and Cluster Engineering Teams on best practice solutions on factory scale projects.
- Support designing/delivering Sustainability capabilities & projects to match the company sustainability ambition.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience & Qualifications
ESSENTIAL
- Education in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing
- Self-motivated, independent
- Good analytic skills
- Proficient in PC applications
- Fluent in Turkish & English
- Good Knowledge of Ice cream Technology and Equipment associated with an FMCG company
- Experience in project management and Project Delivery (all sub skills – supplier assessment and capabilities, risk assessments, FAT and SAT, assessment, and validation of in –house and co-making operations)
- Contract Management & Conflict Resolution
- Capex Management
- Hygienic design and standards
- Excellent Communication skills
- Able to manage/develop machine specifications and project management networks
- Good understanding of the raw &pack materials, and conversion processes
- Knowledge in Lean Production Methodologies
- Knowledge in FI/AM/PM/EPM/EEM
- Experience with cross functional, diverse, and multicultural teams
- Experience in leading virtual teams
- Stakeholder management
- 3PM management

As publicly announced, Unilever will separate its Ice Cream business which is expected by the end of 2025. This role will transfer to the new Ice Cream company.
