This role also requires existing experience in marketing in the Belgium retail/FMCG market.

Meat to please you! At the Vegetarian Butcher we’re looking for new ‘meat on the block’ to join us in in our mission to release all animals from the food chain.

Combining our distinct strengths will allow innovation at bigger scale and deliver more value to our partners and consumers. This is a significant step in becoming one of the largest and most influential plant-based companies in the world.
*Subject to closing conditions, regulatory approvals and consultation processes. Deal completion is expected in Q3 2025.
To help drive the plant-based revolution we are looking for an energetic & passionate foodie to become Brand Manager Belgium for The Vegetarian Butcher. The brand is in very good shape in Belgium, with the aim of becoming the #1 brand in plant-based alternatives!
As our brand manager, you are responsible for driving the growth of The Vegetarian Butcher in Belgium. You’ll be the face of the brand in Belgium and in charge to lead and execute the local marketing strategy based on data and consumer insights. You’ll work on everything marketing has to offer, from launching exciting new meat innovations, developing local activation, building impactful media & PR plans to collaborating with sales teams and solving supply chain hurdles.
You will be part of a very ambitious, talented and fun-loving team of Butcher Rebels, all passionate about our mission to release animals from the food system. You will report into the Country Business Lead of the Netherlands and Belgium and will connect frequently with other European Butcher markets and Global colleagues to maximize synergies.
After the Merger & Acquisition deal completion, the Brand Manager role and person will transfer to Vivera, together with all the other Butchers. The office location for this role will move, likely to be in or around Utrecht in 2026. You will be expected to be present in the office for a minimum of 2 days a week.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF YOUR “CHOP” TO BE DONE
You are part of the integrated Butcher marketing team, consisting of country teams (led by country business leads), a masterbrand team, a portfolio team and a foodservice team.
You’ll be THE brand ambassador for Belgium and excite others to join the food revolution.
Driving commercial & competitive performance and Competitive, Consistent, Profitable & Sustainable growth of your portfolio and develop & implement strategic year plans.
Transform data into insight: bring consumer, shopper, customer and channel insights into the organization and translate this knowledge into actionable activities that win in the market.
Development of marketing- & category plans that seizes opportunities on all 6P (proposition, product, promotion, pack, price, place).
Manage your portfolio from A-Z. You develop an innovation- & renovation strategy on trend & aligned with identified consumer needs. You lead this from insight to execution, going from successfully managing the launch process until and including powerful execution in the market.
Create single-minded & effective communication plans. You create briefs for the creative agencies to deliver unmissable communication. Within the Butcher we have a strong focus on bold PR campaigns to boost brand awareness.
Monitor business performance on Key Performance Indicators, pro-actively taking actions when necessary. You do this in close collaboration with Category Management, Sales and Supply Chain.
Manage the marketing budget for your portfolio.
Build and maintain strong relationships with your key contacts & stakeholders, internally and externally.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A BUTCHER:
You have existing experience in marketing in the Belgium retail/FMCG market.
You speak minimum 2 languages (English mandatory + French or Dutch). Trilingual ENG + FR + NL is an advantage.
You are a Foodie at heart, in on all the latest food trends and developments, you love to cook and to enjoy plant-based food.
You have an innate curiosity for consumers, willing to gain a deep understanding of plant-based meat, able to generate strong insights and capitalize on them.
You are bold, ambitious and always look for ways to improve.
You love to make a product or category your own & demonstrate expertise.
You are a team player with strong project management skills.
You are a pro-active self-starter, entrepreneurial and you have a ‘get things done’ mentality.
You have strong communication skills, are persuasive and able to inspire and take others with you – see yourself as leader of the Food Revolution!
You have strong personal mastery, are resilient and able to work effectively in a fast-pace and dynamic environment.
You combine big picture thinking with a pragmatic approach.
You make data driven decisions that will result in top- and/or bottom-line growth.
