Work Description:
As a Demand Planning Specialist, you will be expected to sit in the middle of the S&OP Process where you will work closely with our customer development, marketing, and sourcing unit teams to build an integrated volume and sales plan where you will coordinate the delivery of the results and make shifts on the forecast based on consumption or business need changes, and hence will manage all downstream supply chain operations. You will be the owner of the financial forecast cycle. You will also manage the exclusive distributors’ inventories within the targets of Unilever. You will have the responsibility of managing short-term demand-supply risks and managing them proactively within your sub-categories in Personal Care.
Key Accountabilities:
- Generation of volume and value plan through executing the demand planning components of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Understand past and future assumptions, risks, and opportunities. Taking proactive actions in distributors’ inventory levels according to future opportunities or risks
- Understand and apply statistical models, depending on historical patterns and horizons using exception-based planning
- Leads the development and facilitates the deployment of new capabilities in Demand Planning such as improvements on S&OP processes and digitalization of the forecasting and E2E S&OP
- Manage customer service team and work with logistics teams to ensure supply for maximizing the service level/availability of each distributor
- Minimize business waste risk by actively managing over and residual inventory of distributors. Ensure guardrail processes and governance to manage inventory and business waste
- Support and work with the related category leaders, providing E2E supply chain business partnership
- Provide insights on SC Demand Planning performance to the Planning Manager
- Lead the roll-out of global capability projects in Demand Planning
- Facilitate the respective virtual team and deployment of best practices globally in Demand Planning
- Orchestrate the Demand Planning community to continuously improve performance
- Deep-dive analysis of the performance of specific categories to propose improvement areas
- Report all the KPIs selected and comments on the performance (e.g., Forecast Bias, Forecast Accuracy)
- Healthy portfolio Management – make delisting proposals for non-performing products in distributive trade.
- Lead the replenishment process of distributive trade and have the mindset of continuous improvement.
Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:
- Operational experience in a planning environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills for proactive management and communication of business opportunities and risks
- Challenging the status quo and pushing the limits within SC and business operation of the Personal Care category
- Excellent Turkish and English communication skills, both written and verbal
