Background & Purpose of the Job
We are looking for Machine Operators at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, Klondike, Popsicle, and Wall's!
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Set up machine for production including assembling various parts of machine, assemble necessary ingredients, sanitize lines, and adjust machine to formula specifications (following SOP’s)
Comply with all quality and GMP requirements, including completing paperwork documentation
Safety – Working knowledge of the workplace and the hazards within it. Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the whole line
Monitor equipment for malfunctions, solving minor problems without assistance and eliminating potential threats to production
Communicate effectively with Supervisors and maintenance personnel regarding recurring problems and needs for repair.
Adhere to all Health and Safety protocols and report safety hazards and environmental risks immediately to Supervisor
Quality - Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product
Conduct CIL inspections as per standard outlined for the work area
Adhere to all GMP expectations and report any food safety or quality concerns directly to Supervisor
Perform line washes/changeovers per the line SOP and SSOPs
Follow work procedures for monitoring product specifications such as weight, size, speed, code dates, CCPs, etc
What You’ll Need To Succeed:
Must be flexible, able to work all shifts to accommodate factory schedules and training
Passing score on Operator Testing – literacy, math and technical aptitude assessment
High School Diploma required
Previous factory experience is an asset
Ability to display problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills
Must be computer literate –read PLC panels, data input
Must be a good team player capable of working within a highly effective team; responsible, supportive and able to communicate
Employment is conditional upon obtaining a satisfactory result of a criminal background check
