JOB PURPOSE:
Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better world. If you are an LCA specialist energized by translating complex environmental data to help inform high-impact programmes and drive emission reductions across a dynamic foods portfolio and supply chain context then this role is just for you!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Join Unilever’s Procurement Sustainability team within the Foods Business Group, where you’ll help shape the future of sustainable sourcing. Our food ingredients portfolio spans cereals, starches, coconut oil, dairy, palm oil, rapeseed oil, soy oil, sugar, coffee, tea, vegetables, and herbs.
As the LCA Lead, you’ll lead the development and application of Life Cycle Assessment methodologies tailored to Unilever’s direct supply chain. Your work will inform procurement strategies and Scope 3 emissions roadmaps across both FLAG (Forest, Land and Agriculture) and non-FLAG decarbonisation agendas.
This is a global role requiring close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver robust agricultural and product footprints. You will work closely with the Regenerative Agriculture regional programme leads, the Climate Procurement team, and the Impact & Assurance team.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the evolution of LCA models to support Unilever’s FLAG and non-FLAG decarbonisation strategies.
Serve as the technical lead for all LCA-related inquiries within the Foods Business Group.
Collaborate with portfolio buyers and supplier teams to co-develop decarbonisation roadmaps.
Leverage primary and secondary data from regenerative agriculture interventions to guide future programme design, whilst guiding in parallel the prioritisation of specific interventions for non-FLAG emissions.
Document footprinting methodologies and processes to ensure replicability and verification.
Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, capturing learnings to improve future modelling.
